One potential Canterbury client knew of us for a number of years but still intended to find their own way ahead.
Their change in mindset came when they phoned their bank on a simple day to day matter and were congratulated on having been a client for 29 years. Their initial thought was a smugness at what a good client they have been for the bank…….but not for long. The next thought was OMG. We are a client of 29 year standing with nothing to show for it except an $11,000 credit card debt, a big mortgage (that hasn’t changed in 10 years) and living pay day to pay day.
Who was winning the most benefit, the bank or their client? The answer stood clear and visible.
Now that same “potential” client is an “actual” Canterbury client – with no remaining home loan and two investment properties with a lot of equity and spare passive income – all achieved by restructuring, not by earning more.
The purpose of having a mentor is a means through which you can “accomplish more in a year than you could accomplish without them in a lifetime than if you depended entirely on your own efforts for success”.
To word it another way, everyone needs the help of a well-travelled mentor along their chosen path.
